Distributed buoyancy modules (DBM’s) are ideal buoyancy solutions for flexibles, umbilicals and other subsea cables and pipelines. They help retain the desired wave shape in the cables / pipelines under the challenging subsea environment. 

DBM’s are composed of the buoyancy body and the internal clamp. The internal clamp is made of a high-strength composite material which works to keep the module from movement. The buoyancy body is made of a composite syntactic foam core and a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) shell. Proper fasteners, such as composite/metallic straps or bolts, are used to secure the DBM in place.
